About
Hi! I'm Hollie and I run Marrang Mental Health Services. I'm a Yuin woman, raised on Dharawal Country, now living and working on Gadigal Land. I pursued a career in the mental health sector following my own experience trying (and failing) to find culturally safe support when struggling with my own wellbeing.

I am committed to the delivery of strengths-based, trauma-informed & holistic counselling services, working from an anti-oppressive and de-colonial lens. I'm a qualified Accredited Mental Health Social Worker who holds a Bachelor of Art (Psychology), Masters of Social Work (Qualifying) & Graduate Certificate in Youth Mental Health.

I am dedicated to walking alongside people in their healing journey while providing mental health interventions and counselling specifically tailored to each person.
While I am experienced in several therapeutic modalities including Narrative Therapy, CBT, DBT & ACT, and integrate skills and techniques from these into sessions, my practice is fundamentally based on assisting people to connect to themselves, community, culture and ancestral wisdom. I strongly believe that cultural, socioeconomic, and political nuance must be considered when developing wellness plans, particularly as it is these forces that can oppress or impede recovery.

I feel my role as a counsellor is to empower clients to reclaim their agency, amplify their voices and help them navigate & advocate in systems of oppression while building their resilience and wellbeing.

Marrang is named after the Dharawal word for sandy beach. The beach is how I connect to country & is an essential part of my own wellbeing.
The seven circles represent the holistic & interconnected nature of mental wellbeing, inspired by the seven domains of the Social & Emotional Wellbeing Framework.
The circles are surrounded by waves, representing the importance of always being grounded in Mother Earth
